Kerala Kalamandalam:
at Cheruthuruthy, founded by the Poet Vallathol Narayana Menon to encourage the study of the ancient arts of Kathakali and Mohiniattom is worth a visit. Thrissur offers a wide choice of natural, cultural and religious places to explore.

Villangankunnu:
This hillock has been converted by the tourism department as an amusement park. While grown up relish the scenic splendor from the hill top. Children can relax and play to their hearts.

Vadakkumnathan Temple:
This is one of the oldest temples of the state. Lord Shiva, the presiding deity, is represented by the "ling". Traditional Kerala style architecture, exquisite murals and carvings on the wall depicting stories from epics, are one of the major tourist attractions in Thrissur. Non-Hindus are not allowed to enter this temple.

Sakthan Thampuran (Vadakkekara) Palace:
Itwas reconstructed in Kerala-Dutch style in 1795 by Sri.Ramavarma Thampuran of the erstwhile Princely State of Cochin, well as Sakthan Thampuran (Greatest ruler of the Cochin dynasty) is preserved by Archaeological Department.

Archeological Museum:
The Thrissur Archaeological Museum is an architectural wonder and is located at the Town Hall road. The Trichur Archaeological Museum, Kerala is famous for its collection of murals and relics from almost entire Kerala. The museum also has big life-size statues of famous and eminent personalities of the past. The museum also has models of ancient temples, monuments, etc. An interesting collection amongst the many artifacts is the "olagrandhangal", which are basically manuscripts written on dry palm leaves. These fragile manuscripts have been preserved till date with much care and worth. Most of the artifacts of this museum were recovered from the dense forests of Thrissur and Wayanad district of Kerala.

Art Museum:
Within the zoo compound is the small Art Museum which has a good collection of wood carvings metal sculptures, Kathakali figures, and ancient jewellery. There is also a wonderful collection of traditional Kerala lamps.

Zoo: 
For the animal enthusiasts, Thrissur boasts a zoo, 2km from the town centre. Within the 13.5 acres of the compound live a variety of fauna like the lion tailed macaque, sloth bear, species of birds and deer. The snake park has a reptilian collection of King Cobras, Kraits, Vipers and Rat Snake
